Green chicken recipe in Hindi | Green Chicken Curry | hariyali murgh

Hariyali murg masala or green chicken curry


1kg chicken (pierce the chicken pieces with knife)
4 medium size onions
1 medium bowl coriander leaves
1 small bowl mint leaves
10-12 green chillies
2 tbsp curd
10 -12cashew nut
1tsp black pepper
2tbsp ginger garlic paste
1tsp roasted garam masala pwdr(spice pwdr)
1tsp cumin seeds
2tsp coriander pwdr
Whole spices
1bay leaves
4 cloves
5 black peppercorns
3 green cardamom
1star anise

Method of cooking hariyali chicken

Heat oil add the onions saute till light brown on high flame
Add salt to speed up the process
Stir continuously
Now let the fried onions cool down
Grind together the fried onions , coriander leaves,mint leaves, Cashew nut, green chillies 1/2glass of water, salt to taste to a smooth paste
Green masala paste is ready
Marinate the chicken with green masala paste and ginger garlic paste
Mix well
Cover it and keep it aside for 1 -2hrs
Heat oil in a kadhai
Add cumin and all the whole spices
Cook till the oil becomes fragrant
Add the marinated chicken mix well
Cover the lid cook on low flame till the raw aroma of ginger garlic paste disappears
Stir in between
Add the dry spice pwdrs
Garam masala pwdr
Black pepper pwdr
Coriander pwdr
Salt to taste
Mix well
Cook on low flame till the chicken pieces becomes tender and oil separates from gravy
Now add half glass of water and let it simmer for 5-10 mins on low flame
Hariyali murg masala is ready
To give more flavour
Add 1tsp of kasuri methi or give dhungaar effect
Garnish with mint leaves
Serve hot with chapattis and rice
